Windsor School
- (no link) - Hi Dale,
My family and I are wondering exactly where in Saskatchewan the Windsor School was located. Do you recall where you were when you took your photo of it last fall?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
All the best,
Jane Thacker
- spunwithtears - Based on the time that the pictures were taken, Windsor school would be about 15 or 20 km to the east of Theodore, Saskatchewan along the Yellowhead highway toward Yorkton. It was on the south side of the highway on an unmarked gravel road. I can't remember if you can see the school from the highway, I think not; But it couldn't have been more than just a couple minute drive down the road until you came to the school. Dale.

- (no link) - I attended Windsor School from 1951 to 1958 while living on a farm in the Orcadia district. It was a pleasant surprise to see my old "alma mater"! Incidently, there was an interesting horse barn behind the school.

This is a little abandoned school that I came across October 27th, 2003
while driving across Saskatchewan.. According to the sign, Windsor School was part of School District #265. Apparently it was built in
1892 and closed in 1967. This would mean that this little wooden structure protected children from the prairie winds and snow for over 75 years.
Even the sign welcoming former students to a reunion, dated 1983 if I can see it correctly, is almost faded from sight and memory.

thanks to JT.
Here are the "contemporary" schools I went to:
