22JUN06 - Hummingbird Moth

Here is a photo of a hummingbird moth that I saw at the Devonian Japanese Gardens near Edmonton, Alberta. The insect looks amazingly like a super-large bumblebee because of its body color, its clear wings and how it hovers while drinking nectar.

Masoud - this one is great ! awesome job !
Lilwater - We have a few of these on Vancouver Island, but I have never been fortunate enough to have a camera in my hand when one appeared. They are amazing and intriguing big bugs. Good shot.
