17NOV05 - Ice (Imperfect)

River ice does not freeze like a skating rink...

Winter now is very close. The North Saskatchewan River almost froze over in just a couple of days. Here are 'before' and 'after' pictures. The second photo was taken this afternoon.

The last image is a photo of the intricant patterns that the ice makes at the river's edge. The thin ice crackles with magical sounds as the warmer river water flows underneath it.
