jamieq - Yuck - reminds me that summer fires are coming, along w/smoke and breathing problems. I do like the shot of the ax!
Ted - Wow indeed. From where did you take the top shot? Do you get a lot of fires in the summer around Edminton?
spunwithtears - This fire was about 400km from Edmonton in Jasper National Park in an place called Syncline Ridge. It was a prescribed burn done to improve the health of the forest and to increase grazing areas. It went out of control and burnt for most of the summer. It apparently grew to over 250km? in size. Fortunately this is a very sparsely populated area.
